Favorite Fishing Spot

Savannah Parks and I went to high school together, and I grew up eating at her family’s restaurant, so I was thrilled when she reached out about a commission! She had pulled together a few photos of her husband’s favorite fishing spot, so we could create a painting of this pretty mountain scene! Savannah surprised him with his custom painting for their anniversary this year. Read more about this fun commission in the Q&A below!

Q: Why did you decide to gift a custom painting?

A: I wanted to do a custom painting because I love the idea of giving people in my life custom gifts. Also, for the person who has everything it is difficult to come up with creative gift ideas. Using a local, small business is an added bonus.

Q: What was your favorite part of the commission process?

A: Seeing the color palette. It just showed that she understood what I was looking for. She took what I said into consideration and I was able to see what the end was going to look like, before she had even started the painting.

Q: Do you have any advice for someone considering booking a commission?

A: Trust the process, ask questions because she wants to give you want you are looking for.
