Dusty's River

Through art, I have had the privilege of meeting the kindest and most thoughtful people. One such couple is Alyn and Adam Beauregard. They came to me with an idea for a painting commemorating a special grandmother, inspired by the river she called home. It was an absolute dream to create this painting for them and learn about the beautiful soul it represents.

You can read about their commission in the Q&A with Alyn below!

Q: Why did you decide to gift a custom painting?

A: When my husband’s beloved grandmother passed away this year, I knew I wanted to do something special for him to commemorate her life and their special bond. When I saw some of Sarah Jane’s other work, I immediately knew she would be perfect for the project. The painting now hangs in our living room, where it is both a beautiful piece of art that garners many compliments, but it is also deeply meaningful to us and is a constant reminder of someone very special to us.

Q: What was your favorite part of the commission process?

A: From the moment we reached out to Sarah Jane, we knew we were in good hands. We told her about the woman we wished to honor with the painting, and she helped turn our ideas into reality. After our initial meeting, Sarah Jane created a sketch with her vision and checked back in before she completed the painting. The end result was just beautiful and truly captured the spirit of my husband’s grandmother.

Q: Do you have any advice for someone considering booking a commission?

A: I would gladly hire Sarah Jane for another commission, or refer a friend who is looking for something that is both beautiful and meaningful. I would recommend you gather your thoughts about what who hope to capture and then let Sarah Jane work her magic. You won’t be disappointed.
