Sunset Inspiration

For my second solo show with Liza Pruitt, I knew I wanted to paint coastal landscapes, but it wasn’t until this sunset that I had my inspiration!

It’s funny how one moment can inspire an entire collection.

Brantley and I were at Bald Head Island, NC, for just a couple of days in March to help my in-laws, and on our last night we went to the beach to see the sunset. God’s beauty never fails to astound me. When I saw the view that evening, I knew immediately that I had to paint it.

I can’t wait to show you what I’ve been working on — I’m calling the collection Tangerine Skies.

When I’m painting a new body of work, I like to hold the work close. Then when it’s almost wrapped up, and I know I’ve done my job well, that’s when I bring you into the process to see the behind-the-scenes!

So get ready, because I have a lot of process videos for you that I’ll be sharing on Instagram leading up the collection release on May 26!
