Two Paintings, One Stunning Space

When you see a piece of artwork and keep thinking about months later, you know it’s meant for you!

Left: Commissioned painting, based on Bald Head Island. Right: Painting inspired by Masonboro Island.

Shepherd Joseph was in the process of redesigning her family room with the help of Morgan Brandemuehl of Brandy Haus Interiors, when she reached out to me over the summer.

The family room was well on its way, but they had a wall that still needed artwork. Shepherd kept coming back to one of my paintings that she had seen displayed locally, for my friends at Drift Coffee in Wilmington.

Interior design by Brandy Haus Interiors.

“I was obsessed with the painting in Drift,” Shepherd said. So Morgan suggested reaching out.

They decided to purchase the painting, inspired by Masonboro Island, and commission a pair based on Bald Head Island.

Shepherd’s favorite part of the the commission process was, “dreaming up the match to the first picture together.”

We incorporated French Blue to match her new Wendy O’Connor pillows. Then the paintings were framed to highlight the deckled edge paper, and hung in their beautiful family room!

You’re amazing and so talented! You have a gift my friend!
