Capturing the Island’s Landscapes

I met Nicole Brady at the Bald Head Island Juried Art Show in July, and we hit it off immediately. I was able to stop by her beautiful home while I was there, so we could start planning two commissioned paintings of the island!

This was the first time we have ever commissioned an original piece of art. I am grateful to Sarah Jane for making it such a wonderfully collaborative and fun experience! Our two paintings are amazing and will be treasured for years to come!

Q: Why did you decide to commission a painting?

A: We were in the process of furnishing our new home on Bald Head Island and wanted a beautiful piece of art to bring our family room to life. A wonderful interior designer, Kris Riley, introduced me to Sarah Jane. I fell in love with her work as soon as I saw it. Sarah Jane has an incredible gift for capturing the natural beauty and serenity of the Island's landscapes.

Q: What was your favorite part of the commission process?

A: I really enjoyed my conversations with Sarah Jane about incorporating our favorite parts of the Island into our commission. It allowed me to feel a deeper connection to the two paintings she created for us. The finished pieces truly captured all that I had envisioned!

Q: Do you have any advice for someone considering booking a commission?

A: Just to trust in Sarah Jane's vision and talents, and enjoy the process!
