Water's Edge Inspiration
I painted the first two panels in my upcoming collection, Water’s Edge, on a gorgeous fall weekend. It felt amazing outside, and the leaves were just starting to fall and dance around in the breeze.
So I grabbed my tabletop easel, a few tubes of golden paints, a couple of mini panels and setup a little backyard studio! With Art For Your Ear by Danielle Krysa (a.k.a. The Jealous Curator) playing in the background, and a photo I snapped a couple of weeks earlier at Topsail Island, NC, for inspiration, I got started.
I didn’t overthink it, I just painted and had fun! I painted billowy clouds, nostalgic colors and happy scenes of the Water’s Edge. I loved them instantly!
In the month that followed, I took that energy and slowly worked bigger, trying to find that sweet spot of spontaneity and passion. The hardest part was knowing when to stop!
I looked around my studio when I was finally done. The floor was covered in paint splatters and I had a pile of well-used paint rags, a sure sign of creativity let loose!
Each painting in this collection represents the blissful happiness and wave of calm that washes over you on the Water’s Edge.
