Design Matters 2024

I got to spend a couple of days at The Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill for Design Matters, a two-day interior design event benefiting Fitch Family Comprehensive Pediatric Rehabilitation Program at UNC Children’s Hospital.

Design Matters marries art and design, through a series of events and lectures. I was part of the “Set the Table” portion of the event, where an interior designer works with an artist and a florist to create a tablescape paired with a painting for the art sale.

I’m beyond grateful to be a tiny part of this beautiful event, thanks to Martha Midgette Style with her stunning tablescape design and Sutton Stems who brought it home with her gorgeous floral arrangement — the dream team! My painting, Soulful, was the perfect pairing and sold on the second day.

Soulful, sold

I am in awe of the incredible talent in this interior design and creative community. Congratulations to the entire Design Matters team for a dreamy event with so much heart!

To the wonderful speakers, Tori Mellott and Beth Webb, you are fabulous! I’m going back into the studio with so much inspiration, thank you!

One of the best parts of my stay was getting to spend time with my dear friend Christy M. King and meet her sweet baby! Christy has a gorgeous magnolia painting at The Carolina Inn, so be sure to check it out if you’re in the area.
