Meandering Marsh Commission

A Wilmington, NC, local, Michelle Foreman reached out to commission a painting for her living room. She and her husband stopped by the studio to see more of my work in-person and discuss all of the details for their custom painting! We went over colors, their likes and dislikes, the composition, and the feeling they wanted conveyed.

Fellow marsh lovers, the Foremans knew they wanted the painting to remind them of marsh adventures with their children. So I created a lively, yet peaceful centerpiece for their family to enjoy every day!

Michelle brought her daughter to see the painting when it was complete, and we decided to add a custom gold float frame to complete the look!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed working with Sarah Jane, she wanted to be sure the painting would be something that we would love and enjoy and would fit in our home. She did a great job at listening to our desires, using her artistic talents, to create a happy yet peaceful, beautiful and meandering marsh scene for our family.

Q: Why did you decide to commission a SJT painting?

A: I wanted a commissioned piece of artwork by someone from the area who was familiar with the beautiful marshes and knew all the colors and beauty they entail. Also, I have seen her work online and in local stores and love her use of colors and style of painting.

Q: What was your favorite part of the commission process?

A: Meeting one-on-one with Sarah Jane in her studio to look at previous paintings and pictures and discuss what we would want in our commission piece.

Q: Do you have any advice for someone considering booking a commission?

A: Sarah Jane is very easy to work with and to speak to. Highly recommend her!
